Welcome

Sometimes we found a place very special when we decided to discover what you can do in the city that you are visiting for the first time. Of course you have a `feeling´ or a filter to choose which kind of store you want to visit. I love wine, and when I am in France the probability to enter in a wine shop is large. For my surprise this place that I found by chance, was one of those places we wanna go back always. Where can great treasures be found? So I can call the Petit Caveau Sainte Catherine (wine shop) in Lille, 9-11, rue de la Barre - 59000.

By stopping there, one notices through the windows badly washed that hides in this shop an incredible collection of wine bottles, beers and alcohols of all kinds. Isolated from the rest of the trendy boutiques of Vieux-Lille, the Petit Caveau Sainte Catherine is a discreet and innocuous shop on the outskirts. In this cavern of wine, one discovers dusty bottles, one divines without being connoisseur that these are only good wines, a real cave of Ali Baba. So, Mr. Benoît Montagne can advises you on what to choose, where the wines come from, how old they are, valuable tips for novices.

I confirm, le Petit Caveau Sainte-Catherine is a great address: the welcome is nice, the advice is given with competence and with simplicity. They are not reluctant to offer you a drink. The cellar in the basement embodies the dream of any taster. The wonders are aligned and can feed the dreams.

Even though it was my first time in this cave, and without buying many wines, the service was impeccable, I received a VIP treatment ... I did a wine degustation on the advice of Mr. Benoît Montagne that was excelent ........ you will find wines from all  french regions,  as a Beaujolais / Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, etc...

You will be surprised by the selection of wines made available to customers with little knowledge .........

......... even the most demanding in the world of oenology.

Ulálá.....

Merci Sr. Benoît Montainge for allowing me to take photos of these rarities, and for the wine selection tips according to my taste and pocket criteria, without losing quality and prestige at the time of purchase. Place to come back and tell friends. To know more, visit
